\n\tAn investigation is underway in Oklahoma<\/a> after a television screen in the MAGA state school<\/a> superintendent\u2019s office reportedly showed a video of nude women during an executive session of the State Board of Education<\/a> on Thursday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe images reportedly appeared on a screen in the office of Ryan Walters<\/a>, Oklahoma\u2019s far-right Superintendent of Public Instruction. Walters previously told schools<\/a> to teach the Bible<\/a> and Ten Commandments, demanded students watch him pray<\/a> for Donald Trump<\/a>, and named transphobe<\/a> Chaya Raichik to a state education committee. He also tried to use<\/a> state money to purchase bibles for classrooms that matched the specifics<\/a> of those marketed by the president<\/a> and his family.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs you might expect, Walters has led a crusade against \u201cpornography\u201d in school libraries.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tTwo members of the Oklahoma board of education said they were shocked at what they saw on the screen on Thursday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI was like, \u2018Those are naked women,\u2019\u201d board member Becky Carson told The Oklahoman<\/a>. \u201cAnd then I was like, \u2018No, wait a minute. Those aren\u2019t naked, surely those aren\u2019t naked women. Something is playing a trick on my eye. Maybe they just have on tan body suits. \u2026 This is just really bizarre.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI saw them just walking across the screen, and I\u2019m like, \u2018no.\u201d I\u2019m sorry I even have to use this language, but I\u2019m like, \u2018Those are her nipples.\u2019 And then I\u2019m like, \u2018That\u2019s pubic hair.\u2019 What in the world am I watching? I didn\u2019t watch a second longer.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCarson told Walters to turn the video off.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI was so disturbed by it, that I was like \u2014 very loudly and boastfully, like I was a parent or a teacher \u2014 I said, \u2018What is on your TV? What am I watching?\u2019 He was like, \u2018What? What are you talking about?\u2019 He stood up and saw it. He made acknowledgment that he saw it,\u201d Carson said, according to NonDoc Media<\/a>, an Oklahoma news website.\u00a0 \u201cAnd I said, \u2018Turn it off. Now.\u2019 And he was like, \u2018What is this? What is this?\u2019 So he acknowledged it was inappropriate just by those words. And he was like, \u2018I can\u2019t get it to turn off. I can\u2019t figure out how to turn it off.\u2019 And I said, \u2018Get it turned off.\u2019 So he finally got it turned off, and that was the end of it. He didn\u2019t address it. He didn\u2019t apologize. Nothing was said.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCarson and board member Ryan Deatherage said the video looked \u201cretro\u201d and did not involve sexual intercourse.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI don\u2019t know if he turned it off or switched the channel, I don\u2019t remember,\u201d Deatherage told NonDoc<\/a>. \u201cI was surprised that when he came back to the table, he was not apologetic. I didn\u2019t ever hear an apology for that being on, and he didn\u2019t seem to be fazed that it was on.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRepublican state Senate President Pro Tempore Lonnie Paxton told Oklahoma Voice that the Office of Management and Enterprise Services is carrying out an investigation into the incident.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis is a bizarre and troubling situation that raises serious questions about the events and what took place during yesterday\u2019s executive session at the Oklahoma State Board of Education meeting,\u201d Paxton said in a statement<\/a>. \u201cThe accounts made public by board members paint a strange, unsettling scene that demands clarity and transparency.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWalters said the claims were a distraction.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSome of these board members are blatantly dishonest and cannot hide their political agenda,\u201d Walters told KOKH Fox 25<\/a>. \u201cIt is disappointing that they are more interested in creating distractions than getting work done for Oklahoma families.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWalters\u2019 communications director, Quinton Hitchcock, called the story<\/a> a \u201cjunk tabloid lie,\u201d according to NonDoc.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cRegardless of if recent allegations are true, Oklahomans are in dire need of new leadership at the Oklahoma State Department of Education,\u201d Oklahoma House Democratic Leader Cyndi Munson told KOKH Fox 25<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThese are serious allegations made by two members of the State Board and an expeditious third-party review is warranted,\u201d Republican House Speaker Kyle Hilbert said in a statement<\/a>. \u201cI urge the State Superintendent to unlock and turn over all relevant devices and fully cooperate with an investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIf no wrongdoing occurred, a prompt and transparent review should quickly clear his name,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\n\tLast year, the Oklahoma State Department of Education\u2019s Library Media Advisory Committee \u2014 which includes Raichik, who runs the anti-trans Libs of TikTok social media account \u2014 attempted to ban The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini and The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls from Edmond high school libraries. The committee argued that the books are \u201cpornographic.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cEdmond Public Schools not only allows kids to access porn<\/a> in schools, they are doubling down to keep pornography on the bookshelves,\u201d Walters said in a statement<\/a>. \u201cParents and kids should have the confidence of going to schools to learn. Instead of focusing on education, EPS has chosen to peddle porn and is leading the charge to undermine parents in Oklahoma.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe case went to the Oklahoma Supreme Court, which sided with Edmond Public Schools<\/a> and allowed the books to remain on library shelves.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe list goes on. In 2023, Walters reportedly emailed some Oklahoma lawmakers pornographic images, claiming they were available in schools.\u00a0<\/p>\n
