{"id":400665,"date":"2026-01-11T07:49:13","date_gmt":"2026-01-11T07:49:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/400665\/"},"modified":"2026-01-11T07:49:13","modified_gmt":"2026-01-11T07:49:13","slug":"astrophotographer-captures-the-milky-way-at-every-level-of-light-pollution-across-the-united-states","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/400665\/","title":{"rendered":"Astrophotographer Captures the Milky Way at Every Level of Light Pollution Across the United States"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/p>\n<p>Astrophotographer <a href=\"https:\/\/ianlauerastro.com\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener nofollow\">Ian Lauro Astro<\/a> traveled across the United States to photograph the <a href=\"https:\/\/laughingsquid.com\/?s=Milky+Way\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener nofollow\">Milky Way<\/a> at every level of <a href=\"https:\/\/laughingsquid.com\/?s=light+pollution\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener nofollow\">light pollution<\/a> according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bortle_scale\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener nofollow\">Bortle Scale<\/a>, which measures the brightness of the <a href=\"https:\/\/laughingsquid.com\/?s=nighttime+sky\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener nofollow\">nighttime sky<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I photographed the Milky Way from every light pollution level, to see how it affects night sky photos. I did this using my Nikon Z5II camera and NIKKOR Z 14-24MM F\/2.8 S Lens.<\/p>\n<p>He began this quest in <a href=\"https:\/\/laughingsquid.com\/?s=Atlanta\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener nofollow\">Atlanta<\/a> which has a Bortle index of 8.
