\n\tThe Movies for Grownups Awards on Saturday night played host to an ER reunion, as George Clooney<\/a> and Noah Wyle<\/a> reunited (twice) on the awards stage and talked about their longtime friendship.<\/p>\n

\n\tBoth men were winners<\/a> at the AARP awards<\/a> show \u2014 best actor for Clooney (Jay Kelly<\/a>) and Wyle for best TV actor (The Pitt<\/a>). <\/p>\n

\n\tIn presenting to Wyle, Clooney joked that AARP should do a \u201cSexiest Man Still Alive\u201d issue and declared, \u201cI would nominate Noah Wyle as the first guy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI met Noah in 1993. He hadn\u2019t worked a lot yet and we did this show called ER<\/a> and it was this crazy hit. At one time we had 40 million people watching and I remember Noah going, \u2018Is that good?\u2019 I was like, \u2018That\u2019s good, that\u2019ll never happen again.\u2019 He was wise beyond his years from the very beginning, from the very start,\u201d Clooney told the crowd at the Beverly Wilshire. \u201cHe was the kindest person I ever met. We became very dear friends very quickly, and remained that way.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe went on to compliment The Pitt star as a great father and husband as well as an actor, adding, \u201cI\u2019m very proud to call him a friend, I\u2019m also proud to call him a colleague. When I grow up, I want to be Noah Wyle.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou got me choked up there buddy,\u201d Wyle said as he took the stage, before crediting much of what he does on the set of The Pitt as an actor, writer, executive producer and director to what he learned from Clooney on ER.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI remember vividly, the first week of ER, he called the entire cast into his trailer and said \u2018OK everybody, this is how it\u2019s gonna be. We\u2019re going to be nice to everyone. There\u2019s not going to be any divisions between the cast and crew or foreground and background, we\u2019re going to learn our lines, we\u2019re going to be on time,’\u201d and take the work seriously themselves, Wyle recalled. He continued, \u201cAfter that, that was the way it worked, and the first 15 years of my career, that is how it worked. And I spent the next 15 years trying to find that feeling \u2014 that sense of family, that sense of commitment. It was only with The Pitt that I found it again.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWyle also gave the same treatment to Clooney for his award, presenting him with the best actor honor after praising his work in Jay Kelly. <\/p>\n

\n\tClooney teased from the stage, \u201cThank you to the AARP. I have to say, Movies for Grownups just means old people \u2014 I realize now that the only way I was going to win anything was if Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet is too goddamn young\u201d to be nominated.<\/p>\n

\n\tHe went on to express his love for actors, noting, \u201cI have a great affinity [for them] and I don\u2019t enjoy watching people be cruel to actors. By the way, Paul Dano and Owen Wilson and Matthew Lillard, I would be honored to work with those actors,\u201d referencing Quentin Tarantino\u2019s recent comments<\/a> criticizing those men. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe live in a time of cruelty, we don\u2019t need to be adding to it,\u201d Clooney said, before concluding, \u201cThank you for this.
