Late night legend David Letterman<\/a> was an anchor of the CBS<\/a> lineup for over two decades, and he can\u2019t keep quiet about what he\u2019s seeing from the network\u2019s news division.<\/p>\n

During a visit to \u201cThe Barbara Gaines Show,\u201d Letterman waxed nostalgic about the work of journalists like Edward R. Murrow before laying into Bari Weiss<\/a>\u2018 tenure at the Tiffany Network.<\/p>\n

\u201cCBS News is a wreck, it\u2019s just gone!\u201d he said. \u201cEd Murrow would be broadcasting the blitz of London from the rooftop of buildings in London for CBS Radio. And it was that mentality that drove the integrity of CBS News that has been trampled on, pissed on, and eviscerated by these idiots that have taken it over!\u201d<\/p>\n

Weiss recently promoted MAGA-friendly anchor Tony Dokoupil<\/a> to lead the division\u2019s flagship evening news program. Even by the standards of fawning, pro-Trump coverage, his first week in the spotlight has been a disaster<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m at a point now where it really is hurting my feelings,\u201d Letterman said. \u201cBecause I\u2019m sick and tired of people saying, \u2018Oh, wait until those midterms.\u2019 Kids, we\u2019re far downstream of the midterms having any effect on this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Letterman has previously weighed in on moves at CBS. He called the decision to cancel his hand-picked successor\u2019s late-night show \u201cgutless.\u201d Immediately after the announcement, he shared a compilation<\/a> of all of his on-air insults of the network to YouTube. During his stop by the talk show, he worried about the future of late-night talk shows, saying television was \u201crunning out of places\u201d for sharp political satire.<\/p>\n
