{"id":402379,"date":"2026-01-12T05:19:09","date_gmt":"2026-01-12T05:19:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/402379\/"},"modified":"2026-01-12T05:19:09","modified_gmt":"2026-01-12T05:19:09","slug":"ghana-experiencing-a-reverse-not-a-reset","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/402379\/","title":{"rendered":"Ghana experiencing a \u2018reverse,\u2019 not a reset"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Director of Communications for the Bawumia Campaign, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, says the cost of living for Ghanaians has worsened after one year of the NDC government, describing the current economic situation as a \u201creverse\u201d rather than a reset.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a forum assessing the government\u2019s first year in office, dubbed the People\u2019s Forum, Mr. Aboagye argued that although inflation has declined and the cedi has appreciated against the US dollar, household expenditure continues to rise faster than incomes.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the prices of essential goods and services have increased, placing further strain on households across the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf this is a reset, then we are in trouble,\u201d he said. \u201cThe views from the People\u2019s Forum show that we are not experiencing a reset but a reverse, and the people are upset.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"gofollow\" data-track=\"MTAsMCw2MA==\" href=\"https:\/\/theaddress.devtracoplus.com\/?utm_source=citinewsroom&amp;utm_medium=placement&amp;utm_campaign=the\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-lazyloaded=\"1\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/728-by-90.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mr. Aboagye maintained that there is a disconnect between the economic indicators government is highlighting and the realities faced by ordinary Ghanaians.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are upset because inflation and the dollar are dropping, yet the cost of living keeps rising.
