{"id":403137,"date":"2026-01-12T14:54:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-12T14:54:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/403137\/"},"modified":"2026-01-12T14:54:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-12T14:54:07","slug":"who-are-the-stars-who-have-pulled-out-of-hard-court-grand-slam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/403137\/","title":{"rendered":"Who are the stars who have pulled out of hard-court Grand Slam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2026 Australian Open has been hit by another couple of high-profile withdrawals although the top 10 men and women are on course to feature at the season-opening Grand Slam.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/jack-draper\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jack Draper<\/a> and Holger Rune remain the biggest stars who will miss the tournament with the former\u2019s absence confirmed in December as he is still struggling with an arm injury while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/quick-learner-holger-rune-injury-recovery-update-issued-by-fitness-trainer\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rune will be sidelined for several months<\/a> after suffering a torn Achilles injury in October.<\/p>\n<p>On the women\u2019s side, Grand Slam finalists and former top-10 stars Ons Jabeur and Danielle Collins also confirmed at the back end of 2025 that they won\u2019t travel to Melbourne, with Jabeur on maternity leave and Collins focusing on her health.<\/p>\n<p>But the absentee list has grown in recent weeks with 2024 Australian Open runner-up <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/australian-open\/former-australian-open-finalist-miss-melbourne-park-grand-slam-rankings-slip\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Zheng Qinwen<\/a>, who was set to be seeded 25th, revealing she will not play due to an elbow injury and she was joined by Veronika Kudermetova (No 31) with the Russian absent due to personal reasons.<\/p>\n<p>Lois Boisson, one of the breakout stars of 2025 after reaching the semi-final of the French Open, was in line to make her Australian Open debut as she has risen to No 36 in the WTA Rankings, but she will not feature as she is still not 100% after struggling with hand and forearm injury in recent months.<\/p>\n<p>Tennis News<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/alex-eala-rankings-breakthrough-top20\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alex Eala\u2019s stunning rankings breakthrough could be a sign of things to come in 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/atp-tour\/atp-rankings-carlos-alcaraz-no-1-lorenzo-musetti-alexander-bublik-new-highs-hubert-hurkacz-30\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ATP Rankings: Alcaraz No 1, Musetti and Bublik unlock new highs, Hubert Hurkacz +30<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cGoing to Australia and playing the Australian Open has always been a dream of mine since I was a kid.
