No one does red carpet glamour<\/a> quite like Jennifer Lopez, and her appearance at Sunday night’s 83rd annual Golden Globes resulted in one of her most daring fashion moments in recent years.<\/p>\n

Leaning into the sultry silhouettes she’s become synonymous with, Lopez selected a 2003 archival look from Jean-Louis Scherrer Haute Couture. Constructed of delicate, nude-hued mesh with a mermaid-style hem made with hundreds of yards of tulle, the vintage gem showcased plenty of skin in between carefully placed swirls of black lace. To complete the look, Lopez wore glimmering jewelry courtesy of Sabyasachi, shoes from Christian Louboutin, and an evening bag from Judith Lieber. <\/p>\n

According to the multi-hyphenate’s longtime stylist Mariel Haenn, the actress and singer was eager to take a more avant-garde approach for the evening. \u201cJennifer decided she wanted to do something different and special, so we went shopping at Lily Et Cie, which has the most incredible selection of museum-quality archival couture,\u201d Haenn tells Harper’s Bazaar. \u201cWe weren\u2019t sure what she was going to have, but once we saw this dress, we knew it was the one, especially since when she tried it on it, it fit her perfectly\u2014as if it was made for her. It wasn\u2019t much of a decision process, as it was truly stunning from the first moment she put it on!\u201d<\/p>\n

Jean-Louis Scherrer might not be a familiar name in the year 2026, but it was closely associated with over-the-top glamour in the ’70s and ’80s. Scherrer himself dressed Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Raquel Welch, although J.Lo’s dress would have been designed by St\u00e9phane Rolland, who took over the brand in the 2000s.<\/p>\n

The superstar told Bazaar that she began the evening by prepping with her namesake skincare line, JLo Beauty<\/a>. For the Globes, she used some of her favorite products to achieve the fresh, firm, and dewy skin that peeked through her ultra-sheer number.<\/p>\n

\u201cI aways start with my That JLo Glow Brightening Serum as the perfect prep before makeup and I make sure to never skip my neck with my new neck serum,\u201d she says. \u201cThe texture of this does wonders for your skin. And you can\u2019t neglect the body, so I use the Smooth and Seduce Body Cream. It\u2019s creamy and hydrating on my skin giving me that radiant glow that lasts all night.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for the night’s beauty approach, Lopez’s hairstylist Chris Appleton sought out a bit of early aughts inspiration.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer look was inspired by early 2000s supermodel glam. We wanted something sculpted, shiny, and snatched, but that put a twist on a classic favorite,\u201d Appleton shares. \u201cInstead of being puffy and loose, we wanted it sleek. And I really wanted to compliment Jennifer\u2018s iconic color with the blonde pieces coming through. The single piece of hair that just fell down the middle of her face made the whole thing effortless.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lopez, of course, is just as famous for her signature glam as she is for her fit-for-a-diva style. With the help of her longtime makeup artist Scott Barnes\u2014who quite literally created the \u201cJLo glow\u201d\u2014the star aimed for an ultra-smokey eye and bronzed skin that complimented the naked nature of her gown.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe look glowed with warm, buttery caramel tones\u2014soft toasted gold that melted into her skin and gave the entire moment a modern, sensual edge. Those hues didn\u2019t just flatter her; they completed her, echoing the richness of the gown and creating a seamless flow from complexion to fabric,\u201d Barnes explains. \u201cTogether, the color and the gown formed a unified, smoldering palette that elevated the classic silhouette into something contemporary and irresistibly seductive. Every highlight carried that molten warmth, pulling the whole look into one polished, cohesive statement.\u201d<\/p>\n

The kickoff of awards season coincides with another busy season for the star. With her upcoming rom-com Office Romance on the horizon, she’ll return to Las Vegas this spring for another set of shows for her showgirl-inspired Up All Night residency.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am so excited for my fans to see this brand new show.
