The players\u2019 combined age was 84 years, 1 day, for their match at the Hobart International in Tasmania, which is a leadup tournament ahead of the Australian Open<\/a>, the first of the year\u2019s four Grand Slam events.<\/p>\n On the day of the match, Williams was 45 years, 6 months, 27 days old, and Maria was 38 years, 5 months, 5 days old for a total of 84 years and 1 day.<\/p>\n \u201cThe crowd was amazing. Usually I play a really big game and it\u2019s fun to watch,\u201d Williams said. \u201cI felt I couldn\u2019t play that with the wind. I felt bad I wasn\u2019t able to give that performance I usually give. I was in control until I wasn\u2019t \u2026 I just need to keep going and doing that and earn my stripes.
