{"id":405736,"date":"2026-01-14T02:18:07","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T02:18:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/405736\/"},"modified":"2026-01-14T02:18:07","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T02:18:07","slug":"vivell-masterplan-to-secure-new-moises-caicedo-as-star-still-wants-out-despite-carrick-return","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/405736\/","title":{"rendered":"Vivell masterplan to secure &#8216;new Moises Caicedo&#8217; as star still wants OUT despite Carrick return"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Manchester United are reportedly looking to secure the signature of a top South American talent who is already being labelled the \u2018new Moises Caicedo\u2019, while the appointment of Michael Carrick as the club\u2019s caretaker boss until the end of the season might not have the desired effect on one star that had been expected.<\/p>\n<p>Carrick returned to the United dugout on Tuesday after he was preferred to Red Devils legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to guide the club through the rest of the campaign, with the focus now returning to the pitch ahead of Saturday\u2019s Manchester derby against City.<\/p>\n<p>However, the January window also remains open and it appears that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamtalk.com\/manchester-united\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Man Utd<\/a> are looking to land another supremely talented youngster ahead of some heavyweight rivals.<\/p>\n<p>Man Utd facing LaLiga battle to sign elite talent<\/p>\n<p>Manchester United are reportedly showing significant interest in signing LDU youngster Ederson Castillo, who is also of interest to LaLiga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>While the Red Devils are expected to focus on signing more experienced midfielders this month, with sources revealing a Saudi Pro League star\u00a0as a player very much on their radar (more on that below), there also continues to be one eye on the future.<\/p>\n<p>Brazilian outlet <a rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/bolavip.com\/futbol-ecuador\/el-fc-barcelona-le-robaria-a-real-madrid-el-fichaje-de-este-jugador-ecuatoriano\" target=\"_blank\">Bolavip<\/a> claims that United\u00a0could make a concrete approach to secure the services of\u00a0 Ederson Castillo in January or next summer, with director of recruitment Christopher Vivell and director of football Jason Wilcox leading the chase for his signature.<\/p>\n<p>The report states that\u00a0LDU would be ready to cash in on the 17-year-old Ecuadorian for a fee of around \u00a34million (\u20ac4.6m \/ $5.3m), for a player who is being considered as the \u2018new Mois\u00e9s Caicedo\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>However, United\u2019s chase for the midfield talent will be far from straightforward, with Real Madrid and Barca also in the hunt. Indeed, it\u2019s stated that\u00a0the Blaugrana have also made concrete moves of their own to sign\u00a0Ederson Castillo.<\/p>\n<p>At this stage, however, a January transfer looks much tougher to pull off, leaving United looking to pick up the pieces again in the summer, by which time they may also have their new permanent manager at the helm.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Want more breaking transfer lines from original sources?
