Two of the top-20 women\u2019s tennis players in Madison Keys (World No. 9) and Victoria Mboko (No. 17) face off in the Adelaide International quarterfinal Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET<\/a>. This is the first time Keys has faced Mboko, a 19-year-old. <\/p>\n Keys vs. Mboko will air on Tennis Channel, and streams live on DIRECTV (free trial)<\/a>.<\/p>\n What: Adelaide International, quarterfinal<\/p>\n Who: No. 2 Madison Keys vs. No. 8 Victoria Mboko<\/p>\n When: Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026<\/p>\n Where: Memorial Drive Tennis Centre, Adelaide, Australia<\/p>\n Time: 9 p.m. ET<\/p>\n TV: Tennis Channel<\/p>\n Live stream: DIRECTV (free trial)<\/a>, fuboTV (free trial)<\/a><\/p>\n Here\u2019s a recent tennis story via the Associated Press:<\/p>\n AUCKLAND, New Zealand (AP) \u2014 Eighth-ranked Ben Shelton \u201cknocked off the rust\u201d in his first match of 2026 on Wednesday with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Francisco Comesana in the ATP Tour event in Auckland, New Zealand.<\/p>\n As the top-seeded player, the American had a bye through the first round of ATP 250 tournament which he has chosen to start his season in each of his last four years.<\/p>\n With his coach and father Brian Shelton and his partner, U.S. women\u2019s soccer team star Trinity Rodman courtside, Shelton saved a set point in the first set to beat 68th-ranked Argentina player in 1 hour, 42 minutes.<\/p>\n Shelton had 12 aces and won 78% of first-serve points but his game showed signs of recent inactivity.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel great, knocked off a little bit of rust but just feel great to be back playing, back competing,\u201d Shelton said. \u201cI think it\u2019s great when you get to play a competitive match, feel the tension at certain points of the match and then obviously get a win and give yourself the opportunity to play again.\u201d<\/p>\n Shelton faced a break point in his first service game as he tried to get into his rhythm, backing up his first serve by attacking short returns. He found Comesana\u2019s serve hard to crack at first. The Argentine had a set point at 5-4 but with Shelton at the net and the back court open, he overhit his backhand down the line.<\/p>\n It was his last chance. Shelton held then broke Comesana for 6-5 and held to take the set in 1 hour, 29 minutes. He then broke Comesana again in the first game of the second set and carried the break to clinch the match.<\/p>\n The ATP Auckland stop is a tuneup event for the Australian Open which starts Sunday in Melbourne.<\/p>\n Second-seeded Casper Ruud bowed out in the second round to unseeded Hungarian Fabian Marozsan 6-4, 6-4.
