Desmond really was a valuable offensive player for a good four- to five-year period, and Tovar is the better defensive player. ZiPS also expects center fielder <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fangraphs.com\/players\/brenton-doyle\/25479\/stats\/batting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Brenton Doyle<\/a> to have somewhat of a bounceback season. Catcher <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fangraphs.com\/players\/hunter-goodman\/29715\/stats\/batting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Hunter Goodman<\/a> is a real hitter, and ZiPS is kind of taken with his tandem-mate, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fangraphs.com\/players\/braxton-fulford\/29704\/stats\/batting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Braxton Fulford<\/a>. Completing the group up the middle is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fangraphs.com\/players\/adael-amador\/27962\/stats\/batting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Adael Amador<\/a>. ZiPS is a great deal less excited about the second baseman, but at least we\u2019re talking about a player who has yet to turn 23 and has cognizable upside.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup _1teeyfa8 ls9zuh1\">The rest of the offense is rather bleak. ZiPS isn\u2019t sure about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fangraphs.com\/players\/kyle-karros\/33252\/stats\/batting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Kyle Karros<\/a>\u2019s bat, but it does have him as the second-best minor league third baseman defensively over the last two seasons, behind only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fangraphs.com\/players\/ben-williamson\/33197\/stats\/batting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Ben Williamson<\/a>.
