Christian Petersen \/ Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson left Wednesday\u2019s game against the Sacramento Kings halfway through the first quarter with a right ankle injury.<\/p>\n<p>The All-NBA and All-Star guard suffered the non-contact injury while attempting to dribble, and it turned awkwardly. Brunson injured his right ankle earlier this season and was diagnosed with a Grade-1 sprain. He missed about a week. Last season, in March, Brunson injured the same right ankle and missed a month of action.<\/p>\n<p>The Knicks are currently the No. 2 seed in the East and are 3.5 games behind the leading Detroit Pistons. New York has seen a drop in form since winning the NBA Cup in Las Vegas. Since then, the Knicks are 7-7 and 2-5 over their last seven games.<\/p>\n<p>Brunson, once again, will be a sure-fire All-Star this season. The Knicks captain is averaging a career-best 28.9 points and 6.3 assists while shooting 48.1 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from the 3.<\/p>\n<p>The NBA\u2019s reigning Clutch Player of the Year ranks second in first-quarter scoring with 10.2 points.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"For the third time in a year, Jalen Brunson suffered a right ankle injury.
