{"id":409287,"date":"2026-01-15T18:45:11","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T18:45:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/409287\/"},"modified":"2026-01-15T18:45:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T18:45:11","slug":"details-of-john-harbaughs-robust-five-year-giants-contract-emerge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/409287\/","title":{"rendered":"Details of John Harbaugh&#8217;s robust five-year Giants contract emerge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Giants are backing up the Brink\u2019s truck for John Harbaugh.<\/p>\n<p>Harbaugh, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/01\/14\/sports\/john-harbaugh-on-verge-of-being-giants-next-head-coach\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">who was first reported to be headed to the Giants late Wednesday by The Post\u2019s Paul Schwartz<\/a>, reportedly will command upwards of $20 million per season on his five-year contract, per NFL Network, making him one of the highest-paid coaches in the league.<\/p>\n<p>With Harbaugh set to top $100 million with his deal, the deal puts him right in line with Kansas City\u2019s Andy Reid and Denver\u2019s Sean Payton, each of whom is also in the $20 million range.<\/p>\n<p>Reid is believed to be the league\u2019s highest-paid coach, earning $20 million per season with the Chiefs, which means Harbaugh could potentially surpass him.<\/p>\n<p>While the deal is not official, the Giants hinted at the inevitably on social media.<\/p>\n<p>Harbaugh was making $17 million per season in Baltimore before <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/01\/15\/sports\/hiring-john-harbaugh-is-giants-biggest-win-in-years\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">his exit after 18 seasons<\/a>, so this pact is a slight raise from his previous deal with the Ravens.<\/p>\n<p>It appears the Giants will also open their wallets for his staff,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/01\/15\/sports\/todd-monken-expected-to-join-john-harbaughs-giants-staff-in-jaxson-dart-boost\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">with Harbaugh eyeing Todd Monken<\/a>\u00a0as his offensive coordinator, as Monken was\u00a0with him in Baltimore for the past three seasons.<\/p>\n<p>Schwartz previously reported that the Giants and Harbaugh spent a long day together on Wednesday, discussing job details <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/01\/15\/sports\/first-photo-emerges-of-john-harbaugh-with-joe-schoen-after-giants-dinner\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">over dinner at Elia Mediterranean Restaurant<\/a> in East Rutherford.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38191917\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/baltimore-ravens-head-coach-john-117338616.jpg\" alt=\"John Harbaugh\" class=\"wp-image-38191917\"  \/>John Harbaugh Joseph Maiorana-Imagn Images<\/p>\n<p>Harbaugh also met with quarterback Jaxson Dart at the Giants\u2019 facility as Giants brass continued to work with Harbaugh\u2019s representation to reach an agreement.<\/p>\n<p>The Giants have been starved for wins in recent years and hope that Harbaugh can lead the franchise back to relevance.<\/p>\n<p>Harbaugh, who won the Super Bowl with the Ravens\u2019 Joe Flacco-led squad in 2012. <\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38190395\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/offensive-coordinator-todd-monken-baltimore-117727426_5cd72c.jpg\" alt=\"Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken at M&amp;T Bank Stadium.\" class=\"wp-image-38190395\"  \/>Todd Monken appears likely to be joining Harbaugh in New York.
