{"id":409383,"date":"2026-01-15T19:47:15","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T19:47:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/409383\/"},"modified":"2026-01-15T19:47:15","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T19:47:15","slug":"hydrosat-raises-60-million-in-series-b-funding","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/409383\/","title":{"rendered":"Hydrosat raises $60 million in Series B funding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN FRANCISCO \u2013 Hydrosat, a thermal imagery startup focused on water-resource management, has raised $60 million in Series B funding from equity investors and sovereign wealth funds. <\/p>\n<p>With the influx of cash, announced Jan. 15., Hydrosat plans to launch additional thermal infrared satellites and expand its global footprint.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re seeing remarkable momentum behind Hydrosat\u2019s mission,\u201d Hydrosat CEO and co-founder Pieter Fossel said in a statement. \u201cThis new funding underscores the company\u2019s sustained growth and positions us to meet the increasing demand for intelligent solutions to some of society\u2019s most complex challenges in national security and natural resources.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hartree Partners, Subutai Capital Partners and Space 4 Earth led Hydrosat\u2019s Series B round. Participating investors included Truffle Capital, Luxembourg Future Fund, OTB Ventures, Blue Bear Capital, Statkraft Ventures, Cultivation Capital and Santa Barbara Venture Partners.<\/p>\n<p>Hydrosat, founded in 2017, operates two thermal-infared satellites and provides customers with imagery and data products that reveal water stress in agriculture. In addition, government agencies apply Hydrosat observations to food security, public safety and national defense. The National Reconnaissance Office, for example, <a href=\"https:\/\/spacenews.com\/nro-extends-data-contract-with-hydrosat-to-leverage-thermal-infrared-satellite-imagery\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">gains access to imagery<\/a> from Hydrosat\u2019s first two satellites through a contract announced in July.<\/p>\n<p>Expansion Plans<\/p>\n<p>The latest funding will enable Hydrosat to expand globally. The company based in Washington and Luxembourg, plans to enhance its presence in key regions such as Central Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, India and Latin America.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAccelerating global expansion and export revenue is a major objective of Hydrosat\u2019s Series B growth plan,\u201d Fossel told SpaceNews by email. \u201cWith the Series B, we have hired sales representatives in India, Spain, the United Arabia Emirates, and Colombia.
