It\u2019s an exciting time to be a Tomb Raider fan<\/a>. A new game is coming in 2027<\/a>, a remake of the original<\/a> is slated for later this year, and the Amazon live-action series is finally getting off the ground. Today, we finally got our first look at Game of Thrones and X-Men actor Sophie Turner in full Lara Croft glam<\/a> for the upcoming show, and she looks like she was plucked straight out of the original 1996 game.<\/p>\n

The look certainly gets points for accuracy. Turner is wearing a faithful recreation of Lara\u2019s teal tank top and even has her iconic rounded red sunglasses that we haven\u2019t seen on her in recent games. The outfit coming so close to being game-accurate does open it up to nitpicks, though, like how she\u2019s wearing black shorts instead of the brown ones from back in the day.<\/p>\n

That same accuracy has made the reaction to the reveal interesting. Some fans are excited at how true Turner\u2019s look is to the source material, while others are less moved by it because, well, yeah, that\u2019s what Lara Croft looks like, alright. Others are simultaneously giving Amazon props for committing to the \u201890s look while also saying it kinda looks like a Party City costume.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, the real test will be when we see Turner dressed as Lara in motion on the show, as a picture can only communicate so much. There\u2019s no official release date for the series yet, but we do know that Fleabag\u2019s Phoebe Waller-Bridge is leading the project, and that\u2019s more than enough reason to look forward to it.<\/p>\n
