Season two is shaping up the same way \u2014\u00a0only a lot bigger.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe streamer says the season two premiere of The Pitt notched 5.4 million viewers in the United States in its first three days, then grew to 7.2 million over a full week. The three-day total of 5.4 million is almost triple what the series premiere in January 2025 drew in the same time frame.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAccording to Nielsen, in the 2024-25 season The Pitt brought in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/2024-25-tv-season-100-biggest-shows-ratings-1236257863\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">6.18 million viewers<\/a> per episode \u2014 over 35 days. The numbers in the paragraph above are first-party data from HBO Max, but if they\u2019re anywhere close to Nielsen measurement, the season two premiere has already surpassed the show\u2019s five-week average for season one.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tHBO Max also says The Pitt is on pace to be one of the five most watched seasons for any returning series in the platform\u2019s history, both in the United States and worldwide. That includes HBO originals like The White Lotus, House of the Dragon and The Last of Us.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThose numbers lend support to HBO Max\u2019s early <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/the-pitt-renewed-season-3-hbo-max-1236467217\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">season three renewal<\/a> for The Pitt. The show\u2019s five Emmy wins and presence on a host of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/lists\/best-tv-shows-2025\/2-the-pitt\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">critics\u2019 best-of lists<\/a> for 2025 probably didn\u2019t hurt either. The show added a pair of Golden Globe wins to its laurels on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tEach season of The Pitt follows the emergency room staff of a Pittsburgh hospital over the course of a single shift; season two is set on the Fourth of July. The series stars Noah Wyle, Katherine LaNasa, Patrick Ball, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell and Shabana Azeez. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/the-pitt-sepideh-moafi-on-joining-show-interview-1236467589\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sepideh Moafi<\/a> joined the cast for season two. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tR. Scott Gemmill created the series and executive produces with John Wells, Wyle, Michael Hissrich, Erin Jontow, Simran Baidwan and Joe Sachs. The show comes from Warner Bros.
