Kathleen Kennedy discussed the future of the Indiana Jones<\/a> franchise and suggested another installment could still happen after Dial of Destiny. As she steps away from her role at Lucasfilm, she pointed to Harrison Ford\u2019s desire to return and indicated that the door remains open for Indiana Jones to continue.<\/p>\n

Kathleen Kennedy is hopeful about continuing Indiana Jones\u2019 story<\/p>\n

In an interview with Deadline<\/a>, Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that Harrison Ford was the driving force behind Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. \u201cHe did not want Indy to end with the fourth movie. He wanted a chance at another, and we did that for him,\u201d Kennedy said. \u201cI don\u2019t think Indy will ever be done, but I don\u2019t think anybody is interested right now in exploring it,\u201d she added. \u201cThese are timeless movies, and Indy will never be done.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked whether another Indiana Jones film could happen, Kennedy replied, \u201cYou never know. But we are all still here, Steven and Frank and I, and Harrison and George. So we get to say whether there\u2019s going to be any more, or not.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kennedy is stepping down from her executive role at Lucasfilm in early 2026, naming Dave Filoni and Lynwen Brennan as successors. \u201cTwo years ago, I went to Bob and Alan to figure out what the transition plan would be,\u201d she said. \u201cI made the recommendation that it be Dave Filoni and Lynwen Brennan.\u201d She plans to return to producing and confirmed involvement in future Star Wars projects alongside Frank Marshall.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to do more movies, and I want the opportunity to get back to a kind of eclectic group of movies the way I used to,\u201d Kennedy said. She also expressed interest in using AI in responsible ways, especially for large-scale storytelling.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on her past work, Kennedy stated, \u201cI don\u2019t really have any regrets.
