\u201cIt\u2019s hard to find great players in the NFL and A.J.\u2019s a great player,\u201d Roseman said. \u201cI think from my perspective, that\u2019s what we\u2019re going out and looking for, when we go out in free agency and the draft, is trying to find great players who love football and he\u2019s that guy. Roseman had a similar explanation <\/a>when the Eagles did not move Brown at the trade deadline in November.<\/p>\n \u201cI think that when you\u2019re trying to be a great team, it\u2019s hard to trade great players, and A.J. Brown\u2019s a great player,\u201d Roseman said at the time. \u201cHe wears the \u2018C\u2019 [on his jersey] for a reason. He\u2019s an important part of this team, of this organization. <\/p>\n \u201cHe cares about winning, he cares about his teammates, and I think that when you\u2019re a team like ours that is looking forward to an opportunity to compete for a championship, you just don\u2019t get rid of guys like that.\u201d<\/p>\n Some would say Roseman danced around a \u201cyes\u201d or \u201cno\u201d answer to the question in Thursday\u2019s press conference. <\/p>\n Brown is under contract through 2029 after signing a three-year, $92 million deal last April.\u00a0<\/p>\n He made it clear on multiple occasions this season \u2014 in the media and on social media \u2014 that he was frustrated with his role<\/a> within the Eagles\u2019 offense.<\/p>\n In 2025, Brown finished with 1,003 receiving yards in the regular season, the second-lowest mark in his seven-year NFL career.<\/p>\n Brown had eight games with less than 50 receiving yards this season, including Sunday\u2019s loss to the 49ers (25). <\/p>\n Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie met with Brown <\/a>on the field during a practice last November reportedly to discuss the matter \u2014 and the veteran player promised Lurie that he would stop complaining on social media. <\/p>\n The meeting happened a day after Brown publicly ranted about the Eagles offense.<\/p>\n Before that,\u00a0a now-viral video\u00a0of Brown saying \u201cit\u2019s a s\u2013tshow \u201d in Philadelphia made the rounds on social media.<\/p>\n There were also rumblings of tension between Brown and Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. <\/p>\n![\"A.J.](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/brown-2.jpg\")
