NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio — The city continues to modernize the Springvale Golf Course & Ballroom.<\/p>\n
The next project coming to fruition in late spring involves the Ballroom\u2019s main entrance.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re going out to bid to renovate our existing main structure, main entrance to the Springvale Ballroom,\u201d North Olmsted Director of Recreation & Public Engagement Tim Pinchek said. <\/p>\n
\u201cRight now, we have a green canopy that covers the walkway going into the ballroom, so we\u2019re looking at removing that canvas and replacing it with an updated, modern look that has solid structures with real windows and columns to match the existing facility. This will also make it more accessible.\u201d <\/p>\n
The estimated $92,000 project includes eliminating the current canopy that leads guests to the parking lot. <\/p>\n
In its place will be a C-shaped driveway where patron vehicles and party buses can drop off guests directly at the covered entrance of the western doors before exiting where the current delivery drive is located. <\/p>\n
Pinchek said the new driveway and turnaround have already been completed. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m guessing it will take four to six weeks to complete,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019re probably looking at May or June to have construction started on this. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re going to find that sweet spot to work with the contractor where they might be able to get this done pretty quickly.\u201d <\/p>\n
The new work comes a year after the city provided a $250,000 venue facelift. <\/p>\n
That included the repaving of the 5,000-square-foot parking lot, as well as replacing three light posts and adding two more for increased parking lot illumination. <\/p>\n
Also completed was the addition of a $94,000 ADA-accessible ramp located in front of the ballroom. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe Springvale Golf Course & Ballroom is a historical facility that we have in North Olmsted,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re trying to keep it up to date and modernize it to make it visually appealing and aesthetically pleasing to the community for many more years to come.\u201d <\/p>\n
