The LSU Football staff has landed another Transfer Portal prospect, and it\u2019s a familiar face for Lane Kiffin<\/a> and the new offensive staff in Baton Rouge. <\/p>\n

Ole Miss offensive lineman Devin Harper<\/a>, a one-time LSU commitment who spent just a season in Oxford before entering the NCAA Transfer Portal, is committed to the Tigers, he tells On3\u2019s Hayes Fawcett.<\/p>\n

\u201cDevin has relentless effort,\u201d former Ole Miss offensive coordinator\u00a0Charlie Weis Jr.<\/a>\u00a0said via On3 | Rivals\u2019\u00a0The Ole Miss Spirit<\/a>. \u201cFor a true freshman, he plays extremely hard. He\u2019s extremely talented. Very athletic. So, those are the things that, number one, stand out.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s got to continue to work on the playbook, his strength, all the other traits that come with time. But this is probably the most talented true freshman lineman, I think, we\u2019ve seen here since I\u2019ve been here with a guy that\u2019s got a very elite skillset and the right mindset, tenacity, that you want for that position to play early.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ole Miss\u00a0announced<\/a>\u00a0Harper as one of the players set to return to the Ole Miss roster, but then came the Louisiana native\u2019s decision to reverse course and enter the transfer portal \u2013 which became official this week.<\/p>\n

Harper played high school football at Shreveport (LA)\u00a0Calvary Baptist Academy<\/a>, where he was a 4-star prospect and the No. 84 overall recruit in the\u00a02025 cycle<\/a>, according to the\u00a0Rivals Industry Ranking<\/a>, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.<\/p>\n

Rivals saw a comparison between Harper and former Buffalo Bills offensive lineman\u00a0Dion Dawkins<\/a>. \u201cLength and physicality\u201d were the main traits to two share. Dawkins was a second-round pick back in the 2017 NFL Draft and is currently on a run of five consecutive Pro Bowls as one of the key protectors for starting quarterback\u00a0Josh Allen<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the past 24 hours, LSU landed not just Harper, but also two more offensive linemen from the NCAA Transfer Portal in Baylor\u2019s\u00a0Sean Thompkins<\/a>\u00a0and Nicholls\u2019\u00a0Ja\u2019Mard Jones.<\/a><\/p>\n

The Tigers already signed a trio of transfer targets in Kentucky\u2019s\u00a0Darrin Strey<\/a>, Tennessee\u2019s\u00a0William Satterwhite<\/a>, and North Carolina Central\u2019s\u00a0Ja\u2019Quon Sprinkle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

LSU also added a junior college signee to the offensive line in Copiah-Lincoln\u2019s\u00a0JaKolby Jones<\/a>.<\/p>\n
