George Clooney<\/a> and his wife, Amal, have amassed quite the real estate portfolio, from their Lake Como villa and U.K. manor, to their farmhouse in the south of France.<\/p>\n

However, the constant expenses and upkeep is becoming more than the 64-year-old actor can bear, the National Enquirer has learned.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople might roll their eyes at him complaining because on the surface it sounds like the most ridiculous problem to have,\u201d admits a source. \u201cBut the reality is, the work never stops. Owning that many places isn\u2019t glamorous day to day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Clooney, who\u2019s worth an estimated<\/a> $500 million, \u201csays he feels there\u2019s always something going wrong somewhere, and he\u2019s not the type of guy who can hand it all over to a property manager,\u201d the source notes. \u201cHe\u2019s way too controlling and frankly, there\u2019s no one he trusts enough to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

No one but himself, that is.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s the one that gets the call in the middle of the night when his house is flooding,\u201d reveals the source. \u201cWhen repairs are needed, he has to give the final word and sign the check<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe also likes to inspect them,\u201d says the source. \u201cAnytime he gets \u2018home,\u2019 he has to spend a day going over the property, making sure everything is up to his standard and nine times out of ten, he\u2019ll find something that needs doing.\u201d<\/p>\n

There\u2019s salaries that need paying, too.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not just the cost and time of the upkeep,\u201d says the source. \u201cThe staff at all five of their homes need to be paid, and the bills are extremely high, even for George.\u201d<\/p>\n
