A NASCAR <\/a> driver who was disqualified at Indianapolis this weekend has announced his and his team’s protest plan. <\/p>\n

\nAll three national NASCAR series were in action in the city this weekend, with the Cup and Xfinity Series racing at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, whilst the Truck Series hit Indianapolis Raceway Park on Friday night<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\nAfter that Truck Series race, it was announced that Stewart Friesen and the No. 52 had been disqualified due to failing front-end height requirements<\/a>, which were deemed too low in post-race inspection. <\/p>\n

\nAs a result, Friesen lost the third-place that he had earned on the road, officially classified as 35th in the final race results. <\/p>\n

NASCAR team set to appeal Indianapolis disqualification<\/p>\n

\nHowever, the matter is not over yet, with Friesen and his team, Halmar Friesen Racing now set to appeal NASCAR’s decision. <\/p>\n

\nTaking to social media following his weekend disappointment, Friesen revealed that the team are set to make an official appeal regarding the decision. <\/p>\n

\nA statement shared read: “The Halmar Friesen Racing team will be going to the NASCAR Appellate Board after our 3rd place disqualification in the TSport 200 race at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park,” <\/p>\n

\n“We believe the post-race heights disqualification was caused by a part malfunction that occurred during the race by circumstances out of our control.” <\/p>\n

\nNASCAR is yet to confirm when the appeal will be heard, but it will be before the next Truck Series race, which is scheduled to take place at Watkins Glen on August 8. <\/p>\n

\nDisqualifications have been overturned after appeal this season, so it will certainly be fascinating to see what happens and whether or not Halmar Friesen Racing can make their case successfully when they get the opportunity. <\/p>\n
