With only 36 holes left to play at the 2026 Sony Open, the weekend is sure to be drama-filled. A whopping 27 players are positioned within four shots of the current tournament lead of nine under par, which is shared by five players.<\/p>\n

One of those leaders: defending champion Nick Taylor<\/a>, who is looking to claim his sixth career PGA Tour victory with a win on Sunday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always love coming back here. It\u2019s great to start off the year with some solid golf,\u201d Taylor said after his second-round 69. \u201cYou know, just because I\u2019ve had a great history doesn\u2019t necessarily mean I\u2019m going to play great, but it certainly helps and I\u2019m excited to have a chance to win again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other notable players currently in the mix include Maverick McNealy and Chris Gotterup (-8), Jake Knapp and Ben Griffin (-6) and Jordan Spieth<\/a> and Daniel Berger (-4).<\/p>\n
