\n\tWhile many Star Wars<\/a> fans hope to see Rian Johnson<\/a> revisit a galaxy far, far away, fear is not a factor in taking on another chapter.<\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing Kathleen Kennedy<\/a>\u2018s Lucasfilm exit interview<\/a> with Deadline, in which she explained that \u201che got spooked\u201d from returning to the franchise, Johnson denied that was what held him back after directing Star Wars: Episode VIII \u2013 The Last Jedi<\/a> (2017), the penultimate in the Skywalker trilogy. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLol zero spooked, sorry,\u201d wrote Johnson on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tKennedy, who has handed the reins over<\/a> to Dave Filoni and Lynwen Brennan, recently spoke to Deadline about the possibility of Johnson returning after The Last Jedi grossed $1.3B globally<\/a> for Disney.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOnce he made the Netflix deal and went off to start doing the Knives Out films, that has occupied a huge amount of his time,\u201d she noted. \u201cThat\u2019s the other thing that happens here. After Shawn [Levy] and I started talking about Star Wars<\/a>, Stranger Things kicks in and he was completely consumed for a while by that. That\u2019s what happened with Rian.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMeanwhile, Levy recently wrapped filming on his highly-anticipated Star Wars: Starfighter<\/a> with Ryan Gosling in the cockpit.<\/p>\n

\n\tKennedy added of Johnson, \u201cAnd then I do believe he got spooked by the online negativity. I think Rian made one of the best Star Wars movies. He\u2019s a brilliant filmmaker and he got spooked. This is the rough part. When people come into this space, I have every filmmaker and actors say to me, \u2018What\u2019s going to happen?\u2019 They\u2019re a little scared.\u201d<\/p>\n
