{"id":41507,"date":"2025-07-28T01:57:09","date_gmt":"2025-07-28T01:57:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/41507\/"},"modified":"2025-07-28T01:57:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-28T01:57:09","slug":"job-advertisements-fall-for-a-second-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/41507\/","title":{"rendered":"Job advertisements fall for a second month"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The mid-year economic slowdown appears to be weighing on the job market with job advertisements falling for a second month.<\/p>\n<p>Data from employment website Seek NZ showed job ads fell 3% in June from a month earlier, and 3% lower than a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>Applications per job ad \u2014 recorded with a one-month lag \u2014 were down 2% monthly.<\/p>\n<p>It comes as various economic datasets point to the country&#8217;s economic recovery stalling in the middle of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Seek country manager Rob Clark said job ad levels remained broadly flat for the past year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;While the volume remains below pre-Covid levels, there are pockets of growth, which should be cause for some optimism,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-greyDarkFaded\">The morning&#8217;s headlines in 90 seconds, including wintry blast on the way, Gloriavale leader in court, and Liam Lawson picks up points. (Source: Breakfast)<\/p>\n<p>Job ad volumes were mixed across the regions, with Gisborne, Marlborough and Southland the only region to see month-on-month growth in June.<\/p>\n<p>In Auckland and Canterbury, volumes fell 2% in June, while Wellington fell 4%.
