New details have emerged regarding Kiefer Sutherland\u2018s attack on his Uber driver.<\/p>\n

In an ABC News<\/a> article published on Sunday, January 18, law enforcement sources revealed that the driver alleged that the actor, 59, allegedly punched him more than once and even tried to choke him. The driver \u2014 who did not sustain injuries requiring medical treatment \u2014 reportedly left his car to escape the Emmy Award winner before calling 911, the sources noted.<\/p>\n

The sources told the outlet that those on the scene alleged the 24 alum<\/a> \u2014 who, in 2007, was sentenced to 48 days in prison<\/a> for a DUI and violating probation \u2014 was under the influence during the situation.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the sources shared that the driver\u2019s dash cam may have captured footage of the attack.<\/p>\n

As the National Enquirer <\/a>reported last week, the Designated Survivor actor was arrested the evening of the incident.<\/p>\n

A statement by the Los Angeles Police Department, obtained by Us Weekly<\/a>, read: \u201cOn January 12, around 12:15 a.m., officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a radio call regarding an assault involving a ride-share driver near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe investigation determined that the suspect, later identified as Kiefer Sutherland, entered a ride-share vehicle, physically assaulted the driver (the victim), and made criminal threats toward the victim,\u201d the statement further read.<\/p>\n

While Sutherland has not yet been charged, the district attorney\u2019s office told ABC News he will likely face charges next month before his court appearance on February 2.<\/p>\n
