\n\tDon\u2019t doubt the hustle of Marty Mauser.<\/p>\n

\n\tA24<\/a>\u2018s \u201cMarty Supreme<\/a>,\u201d a sports dramedy starring Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet as a fictional table tennis champ, has surpassed $100 million globally. It\u2019s the fourth A24 release to ever cross this box office milestone after 2022\u2019s Oscar best picture winner \u201cEverything Everywhere All at Once\u201d ($142 million), 2024\u2019s dystopian thriller \u201cCivil War\u201d ($127 million) and last year\u2019s romantic drama \u201cMaterialists\u201d ($107 million). This benchmark is especially impressive because it\u2019s been a challenging time for arthouse releases; \u201cMarty Supreme\u201d and \u201cMaterialists\u201d were 2025\u2019s only independent films to generate above $100 million.<\/p>\n

\n\tThanks to Chalamet\u2019s unconventional marketing efforts<\/a> and glowing word-of-mouth from critics and audiences, \u201cMarty Supreme\u201d has earned $102.3 million worldwide, including $80.8 million in the United States and $21.5 million overseas. Top international markets include the United Kingdom with $16 million, Canada with $5.7 million and Mexico with $944,000. (Canada is traditionally a part of North American grosses, but A24 only distributes its films in the U.S. and partners with companies such as Entertainment Film Distributors, Elevation and Sun Distribution Group for other territories.)<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMarty Supreme\u201d recently became A24\u2019s highest-grossing movie in the U.S.<\/a> after overtaking the benchmark held by \u201cEverything Everywhere All at Once\u201d with $77 million. Where \u201cMarty\u201d will end up on A24\u2019s worldwide charts remains to be seen. However, the film is likely to remain a draw in the States through awards season, and it\u2019s yet to be released in several overseas markets. \u201cMarty Supreme\u201d debuts next weekend in 12 territories, including Australia,\u00a0Brazil and Italy.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMarty Supreme\u201d cost $70 million, which makes it A24\u2019s most expensive film to date and means it hasn\u2019t climbed out of the red. (Remember: Theater owners keep about half of ticket sales.) However, \u201cMarty Supreme\u201d has been valuable to A24 on the awards circuit (Chalamet won the Golden Globe and Critics Choice for best actor) and is expected to be a major contender when Oscar nominations are announced on Thursday.
