Eddie Howe has responded to talk that Newcastle United have entered talks to sign Rayan from Vasco da Gama.<\/p>\n

Reports from Brazil suggest that exciting young winger Rayan has not trained and pulled out of Vasco’s squad because of interest from the Premier League. AFC Bournemouth bid \u00a327.5m for the winger with hints that the Cherries are trying to agree a fee for the player who has a \u00a369m release clause.<\/p>\n

Howe stated on Sunday night that Newcastle don’t have the “finance” to fund a bid for a back-up defender and an attacker.<\/p>\n

When asked about Rayan talks, Howe, speaking at this press conference ahead of the clash with PSV Eindhoven<\/a>, said: “There’s no truth in that.”<\/p>\n

Sources close to Yoane Wissa’s agent have scoffed at talk that he could leave for Fenerbahce after just a few months on Tyneside. That is also the feeling down the corridors of power at St. James’ Park.<\/p>\n

When asked if an offensive recruit was possible, Howe stated: “I don’t think we have the financial ability to do that.”<\/p>\n

Howe spoke of the return of William Osula and Dan Burn as “new signings” but neither will be back for the game against PSV.<\/p>\n

Howe said: “Dan is making good progress. He won’t make it tomorrow.<\/p>\n

“Same with Will Osula.”<\/p>\n

But on the imminent return of the duo, Howe, who was asked if Burn and Osula are the closest their return may be to new recruits, said: “I don’t know, but they will feel like new signings, certainly with Dan with the need in that position there. That is a huge lift. If we keep him fit and feeling good he will be like a new signing but there is still time.”<\/p>\n
