Huntsville Hospital is adding to its network.<\/p>\n
Community Health Systems announced today it has agreed to sell assets of the 180-bed Crestwood Medical Center, along with its outpatient center and practices, to Huntsville Hospital for $450 million.<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough this acquisition, Huntsville Hospital Health System is continuing to invest in the specific health care needs of our patients and community and in our employees,\u201d said Jeff Samz, President and CEO of Huntsville Hospital Health System.<\/p>\n
\u201cHH Health has served this community for more than a century,\u201d Samz added. \u201cWe are committed to building on this legacy and continuing to invest in local access to high-quality, compassionate care.\u201d <\/p>\n
The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of this year.<\/p>\n
Crestwood Medical Center will continue normal operations through the completion of the acquisition, with no immediate changes to patient care, medical staff privileges or services, the hospital said in a press release.<\/p>\n
The acquisition includes the medical center in Huntsville, the Crestwood free-standing emergency department in Harvest and other assets, including outpatient services and clinics.<\/p>\n
In addition to its main facility, Huntsville Hospital operates hospitals in Madison, Athens, Decatur, Boaz, Guntersville, Fort Payne, Red Bay, Sheffield and Scottsboro, as well as Fayetteville, Tenn.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Huntsville Hospital is adding to its network.
