However, those plans had to change due to some travel issues.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BaileyAJohnson_\/status\/2013725439835898086\" rel=\"nofollow\">According to the Washington Post\u2019s Bailey Johnson<\/a>, the Capitals had plane issues and got stuck in Denver last night. The team landed in Vancouver only shortly before they were scheduled to take the ice for their skate.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">SCHEDULE UPDATE: <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Caps?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#Caps<\/a> will not practice today. The team will hold a morning skate at Rogers Arena tomorrow at 11:30 am<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Capitals PR (@CapitalsPR) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CapitalsPR\/status\/2013724398809923844?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">January 20, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The travel woes come after the Capitals fell 5-2 to the Avalanche on Monday night, extending their losing streak to three games. The team will be back on the ice at Rogers Arena on Wednesday morning ahead of playing the Canucks later that night.<\/p>\n<p>Vancouver represents the Capitals\u2019 best chance to turn things around after a tough couple of weeks, as they are the NHL\u2019s last-place team and have lost eight games in a row. In their last outing, they fell 4-3 to the New York Islanders despite holding two separate leads in the game.<\/p>\n<p>The Capitals lost their lone prior meeting with the Canucks this season at home on October 19.
