There\u2019s no deal in place, but <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Joelsherman1\/status\/2014159560156610579\" rel=\"nofollow\">The Post\u2019s Joel Sherman<\/a> characterizes talks as \u201cserious.\u201d Ragazzo adds that middle infield\/center field prospect\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/register\/player.fcgi?id=willia000jet&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.mlbtraderumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-01-21_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jett Williams<\/a> has come up in conversations.<\/p>\n<p>This morning, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MarinoMLB\/status\/2014009012887388408\" rel=\"nofollow\">Michael Marino<\/a> reported that Milwaukee was looking to acquire Williams and rookie right-hander\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/s\/sproabr01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.mlbtraderumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-01-21_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Brandon Sproat<\/a> in a Peralta deal. According to Marino, the Mets rebuffed earlier interest from the Brew Crew in top pitching prospect\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/t\/tongjo01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.mlbtraderumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-01-21_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jonah Tong<\/a>. Meanwhile, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Joelsherman1\/status\/2014160373931221255\" rel=\"nofollow\">Sherman adds<\/a> that swingman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/m\/myersto01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.mlbtraderumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2026-01-21_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Tobias Myers<\/a> would likely head from Milwaukee to Queens if a deal gets across the finish line.<\/p>\n<p>Peralta has been a top target for teams in need of rotation help. He\u2019s coming off a fifth place Cy Young finish behind 176 2\/3 innings of 2.70 ERA ball. The Mets have been in the rotation market all offseason but haven\u2019t been keen on making long-term free agent commitments.
