Mahindra Group Chairperson Anand Mahindra on Tuesday hailed Blackstone CEO Steve Schwarzman’s praise of India at the World Economic Forum in Davos, calling it \u201cmassive news\u201d and an unprecedented validation of the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cMuch of the dialogue at Davos <\/a>has focused on geopolitical turbulence. Justifiably so. However, when the co-founder of one of the world\u2019s most dominant private equity firms states that India provides their highest rate of return globally, that is massive news, even by Davos standards,\u201d Mahindra said in a post on X.<\/p>\n

Speaking to CNBC-TV18 on the sidelines of the WEF 2026 in Davos, the Blackstone <\/a>CEO on Tuesday hailed the company’s India business.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur India business is our number one business in the world in terms of rates of return for the investments that we make,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Writing further, Anand Mahindra<\/a> said that Schwarzman’s statement was a great validation for India’s growth trajectory.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis statement is a far greater validation of India\u2019s trajectory than any claim made by local policymakers or business leaders,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cDavos is ultimately a convening of capital; when the \u2018smart money\u2019 speaks this clearly, the impact is enormous,\u201d Mahindra added.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, speaking to CNBC-TV18, Schwarzman said Blackstone would accelerate its India additions in the future.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe firm will accelerate company additions in India, signalling deepening conviction in the market,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Anand Mahindra’s praise for Blackstone’s head<\/p>\n

In his X post, the Mahindra Group Chairman also lauded Amit Dixit, the head of Blackstone Asia.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy compliments to Amit Dixit, Head of Blackstone Private Equity in Asia, for achieving this podium position,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mahindra also shared an interesting story about Dixit, revealing that he used to work for his company at one point.<\/p>\n

\u201cHere\u2019s an interesting sidebar: I\u2019m particularly proud because, many moons ago, Amit spent a year at Mahindra before heading to Harvard Business School. He helped launch Automartindia, which evolved into Mahindra First Choice, now a premier player in the pre-owned vehicle industry.\u201d<\/p>\n

Corporate leaders praise India at Davos<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, corporate leaders have heaped praise on India at Davos 2026.<\/p>\n

KPMG International Global Chairman and CEO Bill Thomas said India’s evolution over the years reflects the incredible momentum being built in physical and digital infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Even more importantly, every single year, digital infrastructure has actually positioned India well, he added.<\/p>\n
