While the regime\u2019s supreme leader Ali Khamenei attempts to distort reality through internet shutdowns and aggressive rhetoric, Iran\u2019s streets\u2014and increasingly its hospitals\u2014tell a very different story. Across the country, creative and determined young people are finding ways to shatter censorship and transmit the truth from every corner of their cities.<\/p>\n
One eyewitness from Mashhad described how protesters rapidly adapted to the regime\u2019s violence: \u201cWe\u2019ve figured it out now\u2014how to deal with live bullets and tear gas.\u201d He added that participation cut across generations: children as young as ten and elderly men and women in their eighties were present. Another witness summarized the shift succinctly: \u201cIt\u2019s over. People are no longer who they used to be. They don\u2019t fear death, injury, or even being abducted from hospitals.\u201d<\/p>\n
