Appearing Tuesday on CNBC\u2019s \u201cSquawk Box,\u201d<\/a> David Beckham, now a co-owner of Inter Miami CF in MLS, spoke about how \u201cdangerous\u201d social media can be in the wake of his son\u2019s posts.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve always spoke about social media and the power of social media, for the good and for the bad,\u201d he said. \u201cThe bad, we\u2019ve talked about, what kids can access these days and it can be dangerous. But what I\u2019ve found personally, especially with my kids as well, use it for the right reasons.\u201d<\/p>\n Telling the show\u2019s panel of hosts that he\u2019s used his social media platform to support UNICEF, he continued, \u201cIt\u2019s been the biggest tool to make people aware of what\u2019s going on around the world for children, and I\u2019ve tried to do the same.\u201d <\/p>\n David Beckham shares four children with Victoria \u2014 Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14. <\/p>\n Marc Piasecki via Getty Images<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u201cThey make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That\u2019s how they learn. So, that\u2019s what I try to teach my kids,\u201d he added. \u201cYou have to sometimes let them make those mistakes.\u201d<\/p>\n All of this follows months of fan speculation about a Beckham family feud.<\/p>\n \u201cI have been silent for years and have made every attempt to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed,\u201d Brooklyn Beckham wrote in a series of posts on Instagram. \u201cI do not want to reconcile with my family. I\u2019m not being controlled, I\u2019m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n Brooklyn Beckham also alleged in the posts that his family has unleashed \u201cendless attacks\u201d on him and \u201cconsistently disrespected\u201d his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.
