Former Star Wars child actors Jake Lloyd and Daniel Logan posed for an Instagram photo on Sunday, Jan. 18<\/p>\n

It is a rare public appearance for Lloyd, who said in an interview last year that he was doing well amid his journey with schizophrenia<\/p>\n

Lloyd was 9 when he played a young Anakin Skywalker in the first Star Wars prequel film<\/p>\n

Former Star Wars actor Jake Lloyd made a rare public appearance on Instagram, a little over a year after assuring fans he was doing well amid his journey with schizophrenia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Daniel Logan, who also had a role in the Star Wars prequel films as a child actor, shared a picture with Lloyd on Sunday, Jan. 18. Logan, 38, flashed a peace sign and a grin for the camera as he sat beside Lloyd, 36, outside a restaurant.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust spent the day with my brother,\u201d Logan wrote on Instagram<\/a> alongside the photo.<\/p>\n

Lloyd played the young Anakin Skywalker when he was 9 in 1999\u2019s Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace<\/a>. Logan starred as the young Boba Fett in 2002\u2019s Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. Ahmed Best<\/a>, who played Jar Jar Binks in all three Star Wars prequels, added a heart emoji in the comments to Logan\u2019s post.<\/p>\n

The photo with Logan was published a year after author Clayton Sandell<\/a> published a rare interview with Lloyd on Jan. 1, 2025. At the time, the former child actor said he felt \u201cpretty good\u201d<\/a> after completing an 18-month stay at a Southern California inpatient mental health facility.\u00a0According to Sandell, Lloyd began 2025 in a new rehabilitation center where he was “basically free to come and go as he pleases.”<\/p>\n

Lloyd\u2019s mother, Lisa Lloyd, also told Sandell that her son struggled with anosognosia, which is common for those with schizophrenia. The Cleveland Clinic<\/a> describes anosognosia as a condition where \u201cyour brain can\u2019t recognize one or more other health conditions you have.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lloyd\u2019s mother told TMZ<\/a> in 2015 that her son was diagnosed with schizophrenia and began showing signs when he was 19. The actor also had run-ins with the law, including an arrest in May 2023 after turning his car off in the middle of a three-lane road. Lisa described the incident as a \u201cpsychotic break\u201d in a March 2024 interview<\/a> with Sandell for Scripps News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lloyd told Sandell in 2025 that it was necessary to hit \u201crock bottom\u201d to \u201chonestly take part in treatment, honestly take your meds, and honestly live with your diagnosis.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although Lloyd does not attend fan conventions, he told Sandell last year that meeting fans is \u201cimmediately therapeutic.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI really do appreciate the time that’s been taken on us,\u201d Lloyd said at the time. \u201cI’m very appreciative.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lisa also told Sandell in 2025 that Lloyd is \u201cactually getting so much better than he was,\u201d adding, \u201cIt\u2019s a big relief for me and the rest of his family. We’re all just thrilled that he’s doing as well as he is, and that he’s working really hard at it. We appreciate that.\u201d<\/p>\n
