January has been busy for Alford, who is pursuing a pair of talented 2027 running backs.<\/p>\n<p>Four-star RB planning spring visit to Michigan<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Michigan has yet to lock down a commit from a running back in the 2027 class, but Alford is working hard to change that. One of the players he is pursuing is Noah Roberts, a four-star ranked <a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/player\/noah-roberts-46151437\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">just outside the top-100 on the 247Sports composite<\/a>. He visited Michigan for the spring game last year and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maizenbrew.com\/michigan-football-recruiting\/96662\/michigan-football-recruiting-krew-jones-noah-roberts-brayton-feister-tranard-roberts\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">then returned for the Purdue game<\/a> in November. Our fearless <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maizenbrew.com\/michigan-football-recruiting\/100148\/michigan-football-recruiting-top-targets-list-2027-class-peter-bourque-dakota-guerrant\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">leader Von Lozon named Roberts<\/a> as one of the way-too-early top targets from the 2027 class.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Roberts recently told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/rivals\/news\/four-star-rb-noah-roberts-has-pair-of-junior-day-visits-set-for-later-this-month\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Greg Biggins with Rivals ($)<\/a> that the schools recruiting him the hardest are Oregon, Texas and Michigan. He has visited Oregon three times and Texas once.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cI like Michigan and the new staff a lot,\u201d Roberts said. \u201cThey\u2019re a run-heavy team. I watched them at Utah, and they always had a great running game, and I can see them bringing that over to Michigan. They\u2019re a physical team, and I like the all-around fit for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">It doesn\u2019t appear Michigan is in the lead for the Chandler, Arizona native, who has visits set for Oregon and USC later this month. But he did mention he was going to return to Michigan sometime in the near future.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cI\u2019m also going to take spring visits to Oregon, Texas and Michigan,\u201d Roberts said. \u201cI might take a few more too, but still figuring those out. My plan is to lock in my decision after all the unofficial trips, and then I\u2019ll just take one officer trip, and that will be to the school that I commit to.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Four-star speaks on why he has Michigan in his top three<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">That isn\u2019t the only running back with the last name Roberts that Michigan is pursuing in the 2027 class. Four-star <a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/player\/tranard-roberts-46143812\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tranard Roberts<\/a> \u2014 no relation to Noah \u2014 has shown interest in Michigan for a while, after visiting for the Washington <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maizenbrew.com\/michigan-football-recruiting\/99182\/michigan-football-recruiting-ohio-state-visitors-list-salesi-moa-monshun-sales-recarder-kitchen-kemon-spell-dakota-guerrant\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">and Ohio State games this past season<\/a>. A native of The Villages, Florida, Roberts was set to commit to the Florida Gators this winter before the team moved on from Billy Napier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Roberts has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maizenbrew.com\/michigan-football-recruiting\/96662\/michigan-football-recruiting-krew-jones-noah-roberts-brayton-feister-tranard-roberts\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">previously spoken about his relationship with Alford<\/a>, and that connection has seemingly grown stronger this winter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cHe\u2019s one of the best in the game,\u201d Roberts told<a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/michigan-wolverines\/news\/rivals300-rb-tranard-roberts-has-michigan-in-top-3-thanks-to-bond-with-tony-alford\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> The Wolverine\u2019s EJ Holland ($)<\/a>. \u201cHe\u2019s like a father to me. We grew up the same way. We can relate on a lot of different things. We have simple conversations. It\u2019s not always about football. It\u2019s about life. He\u2019s really like a father figure to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Roberts continued to praise Alford, mentioning he loved seeing Michigan have \u201cdownhill, great runners\u201d in the Washington win. He had <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hayesfawcett3\/status\/1981385450045788479?s=46&amp;t=mYJ9v6QGB8M6rX1Rec2uqg\" rel=\"nofollow\">Michigan in his top-five in October<\/a>, and Michigan has only risen on his list since then.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cThey are top-three right now,\u201d Roberts said. \u201cI want to run the ball. I want to get on the field early. Michigan told me if you\u2019re a dawg, they are going to play you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Roberts plans to get back to Michigan for a visit this offseason, but no date is locked in just yet.<\/p>\n<p>Four-start OT wants to learn more about Whittingham<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">One of Michigan\u2019s top offensive line targets in the 2027 class is four-star Oluwasemilore Olubobola, a Jersey City, New Jersey native. He is ranked 69th overall and seventh among offensive tackles <a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/player\/oluwasemilore-olubobola-46151027\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">on the composite<\/a>. He received his offer from in the fall and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maizenbrew.com\/michigan-football-recruiting\/99182\/michigan-football-recruiting-ohio-state-visitors-list-salesi-moa-monshun-sales-recarder-kitchen-kemon-spell-dakota-guerrant\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">visited for the Ohio State game<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cI\u2019m definitely interested in Michigan,\u201d Olubobola said in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/michigan-wolverines\/news\/top-100-ol-oluwasemilore-olubobola-talks-michigan-recent-visit\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a recent interview with Holland ($)<\/a>. \u201cThey are in constant thought. When I\u2019m thinking about top schools, I think about Michigan. They are a good school. They are known for winning. They offer a great education as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">The 6-foot-6, 275-pounder has offers from more than 30 schools, including Ohio State, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas A&amp;M and Miami. Like many recruits, Olubobola seems cautiously optimistic about Whittingham.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cI want to know more about him. He seems like a cool guy. I\u2019m sure I\u2019ll get in contact with him and his new staff soon\u2026I want to see how coach Whittingham changes the program,\u201d Olubobola said. \u201cI want to see how the new offensive line coach works with his players. I just want to see the culture, how the team looks and how they bounce back from everything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Olubobola hopes to make a return visit to Ann Arbor and meet with Whittingham and new offensive line coach Jim Harding at some point this offseason.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">-2027 three-star athlete <a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/player\/peyton-higginson-46149856\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Peyton Higginson<\/a>, a Salem, Utah native, was offered by new defensive coordinator Jay Hill.
