Kyle Whittingham has landed another player in the 2026 recruiting class, as kicker Jacob Baggett announced his commitment to the Michigan Wolverines on Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n

This commitment comes after Baggett picked up an offer<\/a> from Michigan special teams coach Kerry Coombs last week and visited Ann Arbor last weekend, so the Wolverines moved pretty quickly with this recruitment.<\/p>\n

Former 2026 kicker commit Micah Drescher backed out of his letter of intent with Michigan after signing last month<\/a>. That opened the door for the Wolverines to go after another specialist in the class, and landing a top-10 kicker in the nation<\/a> at the last minute is pretty solid work.<\/p>\n

Jacob is a fantastic high school kicking prospect. He is a great looking athlete with a live leg. Jacob does an outstanding job on field goal. He hits a pure ball, gets great height on easily has 55+ yard range. His kickoffs are strong, D1 ready. Jacob drives the ball 65+ yards, with 4.15+ hang time. He is a competitor who thrives under pressure. There is big upside here. Jacob has all the tools to dominate at the next level. Baggett played high school football at Providence Day in North Carolina, the same school that produced Michigan wide receiver Channing Goodwin<\/a>. As a senior, Baggett made 6-of-7 field goal attempts with a long of 48 yards.
