{"id":42470,"date":"2025-07-28T11:17:08","date_gmt":"2025-07-28T11:17:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/42470\/"},"modified":"2025-07-28T11:17:08","modified_gmt":"2025-07-28T11:17:08","slug":"bbc-news-hires-ai-lead-anjali-kapoor-from-meta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/42470\/","title":{"rendered":"BBC News Hires AI Lead Anjali Kapoor From Meta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tA <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/meta\/\" id=\"auto-tag_meta_1\" data-tag=\"meta\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Meta<\/a> executive is heading to <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/bbc\/\" id=\"auto-tag_bbc_1\" data-tag=\"bbc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">BBC<\/a> News to oversee its adoption of <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/ai\/\" id=\"auto-tag_ai_1\" data-tag=\"ai\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AI<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/anjali-kapoor\/\" id=\"auto-tag_anjali-kapoor_1\" data-tag=\"anjali-kapoor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Anjali Kapoor<\/a> was previously Meta\u2019s Director for Media Partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region but takes on the newly-created director role for <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/bbc-news\/\" id=\"auto-tag_bbc-news_1\" data-tag=\"bbc-news\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">BBC News<\/a> AI, Innovation and Growth. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe move comes with traditional news orgs like the BBC thinking harder about their use of <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/artificial-intelligence\/\" id=\"auto-tag_artificial-intelligence_1\" data-tag=\"artificial-intelligence\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">artificial intelligence<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tKapoor will \u201cruthlessly focus [her] time to drive audience growth both on and off-platform, accelerate AI adoption and make [the BBC] a more data-led organisation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tShe joins a few months after the BBC\u00a0established new editorial policy guidance for generative AI content and a few days after BBC Studios opened an AI experimentation lab.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tKapoor worked for The Globe and Mail, Yahoo! and Bloomberg Media before joining Meta, where she partnered with media organizations to help with audience and revenue growth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tBBC News CEO Deborah Turness said her role is \u201ccritical as we transform BBC News to be fit for the future, using AI to enhance our journalism, growing audiences \u2013 particularly under-25s.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cAnjali\u2019s deep knowledge of how news works, her future-focused approach to AI and her deep understanding of product and platforms make her uniquely positioned to lead this work,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A Meta executive is heading to BBC News to oversee its adoption of AI.
