Piers Morgan is weighing in on the cancellation of \u201cThe Late Show With Stephen Colbert.\u201d<\/p>\n
On Sunday morning, the TV personality took to X to say that most late-night hosts have become nothing more than \u201chyper-partisan activist hacks\u201d for the Left and that it\u2019s really \u201cno wonder\u201d why Stephen Colbert got the boot. He also shared a New York Post cover that read, \u201cNo wonder he was canned, \u2018The Left Show With Stephen Colbert.’\u201d<\/p>\n

No wonder Colbert got canned. More will follow.\u201d<\/p>\n Morgan is not the only television authority to speak out on Colbert\u2019s cancellation. Also on Sunday, former \u201cTonight Show\u201d host Jay Leno said late-night frontmen too often alienate part of their audience by \u201ccozying up\u201d to one political party.<\/p>\n \u201cI love political humor, don\u2019t get me wrong. But it\u2019s just what happens when people wind up cozying too much to one side or the other.\u201d Leno said<\/a> in an interview with David Trulio, president and CEO of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute. \u201cWhy shoot for just half an audience all the time? You know, why not try to get the whole. I mean, I like to bring people into the big picture.\u201d<\/p>\n It was announced on July 17 that the entire \u201cLate Show,\u201d not just Colbert\u2019s iteration, would come to a close after the next TV season.
