Jeremy Allen White goes from \u201cThe Bear\u201d to The Boss as he takes on the decorated musician\u2019s life in the new biopic \u201cSpringsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere,\u201d streaming on Disney+ and Hulu Friday. While the film only received two stars from Globe critic Odie Henderson<\/a>, he praised White\u2019s performance, writing, \u201cwhile he doesn\u2019t try to imitate that iconic rasp, he sounds good and sweats up a storm even better.\u201d Available on Disney+ and Hulu<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u2018The Smashing Machine\u2019<\/p>\n

Another biopic streaming this weekend is A24\u2019s \u201cThe Smashing Machine,\u201d<\/a> hitting HBO Max on Friday. Directed and written by Benny Safdie, the drama stars wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne \u201cThe Rock\u201d Johnson as mixed martial artist Mark Kerr, covering his time in the sport and struggles with addiction. Kicking back with a documentary narrated by the legendary Sir David Attenborough is always a good time, and this weekend, he lends his voice to the new six-part series \u201cKingdom,\u201d debuting Saturday at 8 p.m. on AMC+ and BBC America. The latest nature docuseries follows lions, leopards, and other critters in Zambia, with new episodes airing weekly on Saturdays. Premiering Saturday on AMC+ and BBC America<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

All seven seasons of the Boston-set police procedural series \u201cRizzoli & Isles\u201d hit Netflix this week (it\u2019s also streaming on Pluto TV). Based on the novels by Tess Gerritsen<\/a>, the show follows detective Jane Rizzoli (played by Angie Harmon, who was also pretty great on \u201cLaw & Order\u201d) and medical examiner Dr. Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander) as they butt heads while solving cases together.
