Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth<\/a> went a little crazy with the minigames and side activities, and the quality varies of course, but one that everyone seems to adore is Queen’s Blood.<\/p>\n

The tactical card game has been a big hit among players, and it seems Square Enix likes it too, as it’s set to make a return in the third game in the FF7 remake project.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Polygon<\/a>, director Naoki Hamaguchi talks about Queen’s Blood, and how it’ll be “enhanced” in the upcoming RPG.<\/p>\n

“Queen\u2019s Blood is a very popular and beloved minigame, and I believe a lot of people are still wanting something like that,” he says. “I want to expand on Queen\u2019s Blood so that we are enhancing it, and giving you a more powered-up version of it when you see that third installment\u2026 Queen\u2019s Blood is still going to be available in the third installment. We just want to expand on it.”<\/p>\n

So, there you have it. Not only is the card game popular enough that it’s coming back, it’ll be expanded and enhanced beyond what’s seen in Rebirth.<\/p>\n

On the topic of minigames, Hamaguchi is asked about the snowboarding sequence, which will inevitably be part of the upcoming game.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m afraid I can\u2019t delve too much into the details, but we understand that it\u2019s not going to be just a simple snowboarding minigame,” he tells Polygon. “We want to make sure that it\u2019s incorporated into the story to have that sort of connection with the theming of it.”<\/p>\n

He also comments that the game is “coming along very smoothly” and that the team is “tracking on time for the milestones we have set”. While we don’t know how far off the third game is, it really does sound like its development is going swimmingly thus far.<\/p>\n
