Thriller movies are always popular across the best streaming services, and that certainly includes Prime Video. Whenever the Amazon-owned platform adds a new twist-fueled movie to its library, subscribers seem to flock to stream it before the secrets can be spoiled online.

I’m no different. In fact, I rank the thriller genre as my favorite type of movie. So, to assist my fellow thriller fans, I’ve combed through the Prime Video collection and picked out a handful of excellent movies that each offer at least one major twist. But fear not, this article is completely spoiler-free. I’m not going to ruin the fun of discovering the twist for yourself.

If one twist simply isn’t enough, then you’ll want to check out “Companion.” This 2025 sci-fi thriller flips the script so many times that it’ll make your head spin. In fact, there might be a one twist too many, but for fans of shock revelations, it’s a complete blast. It’s also anchored by a strong leading performance from Sophie Thatcher, and “The Boys’” Jack Quaid is also excellent, playing a slightly different character to his typical affable type. Laced with dark comedy, “Companion” ranks as one of last year’s most surprisingly high-quality releases.

It’s a little hard to get into the narrative beats of “Companion” without giving away at least one twist, so forgive me for being a little vague here. The flick sees a young woman, Iris (Thatcher), head to a remote lakehouse with her boyfriend, Josh (Quaid). The plan is to spend a relaxing weekend with Josh’s friend, but things quickly go south. If you can resist, I encourage you to stream “Companion” without even watching the trailer to avoid any spoilers.

Zoë Kravitz made her directorial debut with “Blink Twice,” a psychological thriller that impressively walks a fine line between enjoyable entertainment and delivering a powerful and important social message. It might pack a more predictable twist compared to some of the other picks on this list, but “Blink Twice” does an excellent job of ratcheting up the suspense and the stakes. Plus, lead Naomi Ackie and Channing Tatum are excellent.

Frida (Naomi Ackie) is a cocktail waitress at a swanky party where she meets tech tycoon Slater King (Channing Tatum). Unexpectedly invited to his private island for a vacation of unparalleled luxury, Frida and her friend Jess (Alia Shawkat) initially think they’ve found paradise. Last year, director Steven Soderbergh delivered one of my favorite movies of 2025 in “Black Bag,” but this sharp spy thriller was far from the first time the filmmaker has crafted a gripping watch. “Side Effects” might be smaller in scale, but it’s overflowing with twisty drama and clever writing. Plus, the ending is particularly memorable. It’s also packing some real acting talent, including Jude Law, Rooney Mara, Channing Tatum and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

After waiting four years for her husband (Tatum) to be released from prison for insider trading, Emily (Mara) finds herself sinking into a deep depression. Prescribes a new, experimental drug by psychiatrist Dr. Jonathan Banks (Law), the cure to her illness comes with some extremely severe side effects. But there’s a lot more going on under the surface, and eventually a twisted game of deception, manipulation and even murder begins.

I’m far from the biggest “Saltburn” fan. I had some pretty significant issues with Emerald Fennell’s infamous thriller, but there’s no denying that it made one heck of an impression when it arrived on Prime Video in 2023. It quickly became one of the platform’s most-streamed movies of all time and started a notorious TikTok trend. When even my mom was talking about “Saltburn,” I knew it had cracked the pop culture zeitgeist. So I’m putting my own opinion aside when recommending this thriller.

Opening at the University of Oxford, scholarship student Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan) initially struggles to fit in among his upper-class peers. However, taken under the wing of the popular Felix Catton (Jacob Elordi), he’s invited to spend the summer at the Cattons’ plush countryside manor, Saltburn. There, he meets Felix’s parents (Rosamund Pike and Richard E. Grant) and also becomes obsessed with the family and their affluent lifestyle.

‘Speak No Evil’ (2024)

Speak No Evil | Official Trailer – YouTube

"Speak

Watch On

I’m typically apprehensive about American remakes of foreign-language movies. But in the case of “Speak No Evil,” which is a remake of the 2022 Danish-Dutch flick of the same name, my fears were unwarranted. While I do still prefer the original overall, for reasons I can’t express without giving the game away, this psychological horror-thriller is gripping. And that’s thanks in large part to a phenomenal leading turn from James McAvoy, who plays a character that leaps between charismatic and chilling on the drop of a dime.

Paddy (Scoot McNairy) and Louise (Mackenzie Davis) are an American couple invited to stay at the farmhouse of a British husband-and-wife (McAvoy and Aisling Franciosi) after meeting them on vacation in Italy. But rather than enjoying the tranquil English countryside, they find themselves increasingly unnerved by their hosts. As the situation escalates, a shocking secret is eventually revealed. This is a rare remake that justifies its existence.
