Natasha Lyonne<\/a> is speaking about a setback in her long-running sobriety journey.<\/p>\n

On Friday<\/a>, January<\/a> 23, the Poker Face star revealed on X<\/a> that she had experienced a relapse. \u201cTook my relapse public more to come,\u201d she ominously wrote, before following up with<\/a>, \u201cIt\u2019s all kinds of fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

The following day on January 24, she wrote<\/a> a more reflective message aimed at others who may be in a similar situation. \u201cRecovery is a lifelong process. Anyone out there struggling, remember you\u2019re not alone. Grateful for love & smart feet,\u201d Lyonne, 46, shared in the follow up post.<\/a> She also referenced an upcoming creative project, adding, \u201cGonna do it for baby Bambo,\u201d a nod to a film she wrote and is set to direct about hockey player Sophie \u201cBambo\u201d Braverman.<\/p>\n

The former Orange is the New Black actress has been open about her history with addiction for years. After entering rehab in 2006, she later described the darkest period of her life<\/a> in a 2012 interview with Entertainment Weekly<\/a>. \u201cSpiraling into addiction is really, really scary<\/a>,\u201d she said at the time. \u201cI was definitely as good as dead, you know? A lot of people don’t come back.\u201d<\/p>\n

The update comes amid a seemingly complicated professional period for the actress. Lyonne has recently faced online criticism for her involvement in AI-assisted filmmaking through Asteria, the studio she cofounded alongside producer Brynne Mooser, whom she was previously romantically linked to<\/a>. However, according to Vanity Fair,<\/a> it seems the couple has called it quits. Lyonne has defended the project as artist-forward and traditionally shot.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course the movie\u2019s going to be shot like a real movie,\u201d she told The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> in May 2025. \u201cThere\u2019s nothing I love more than movies<\/a>\u2026 I love nothing more than filmmaking, the filmmaking community, the collaboration of it, the tactile fine art of it\u2026 In no way would I ever want to do anything other than really create some guardrails or a new language.\u201d<\/p>\n
