Melanie \u201cMel\u201d C\u201d Chisholm is thankful she raised her daughter out of the spotlight amid her Spice Girls bandmate Victoria Beckham\u2019s family feud with son Brooklyn<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The singer spoke about her 16-year-old daughter, Scarlett, and said the teenager has no plans to follow into her footsteps in the music industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo relieved!\u201d Chisholm admitted in an interview with the Sunday Times <\/a>published Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s so hard to be in the shadow of a parent who\u2019s had success,\u201d she continued. \u201cThe thing is, with Scarlett, she\u2019s not in the public eye. I made that conscious decision when she was a baby.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Chisholm didn\u2019t name names, she referenced friends who \u201chandle it very differently,\u201d amid her former Spice Girls bandmate\u2019s very public feud with son Brooklyn. WireImage<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously I have friends who handle it very differently, each to their own, no judgment at all,\u201d she said. \u201cBut for me, probably because of my experiences with fame, I didn\u2019t feel comfortable making that decision for her.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for how close she is to her former bandmates \u2014 which aside from Victoria incudes Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell-Horner, and Mel B \u2014 she shared that it \u201cfluctuates.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLike any friendship group,\u201d she noted, adding, \u201cI\u2019ve always been really close to Emma.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Saturday, the beloved girl group reunited for Bunton\u2019s 50th birthday party<\/a>, with only Mel B not in attendance.<\/p>\n

Despite her family drama, Victoria happily posed with her former bandmates, looking chic in a black suit.<\/p>\n

The Beckham family has put on a united front since Brooklyn shared a scathing public statement<\/a> blasting his parents \u2014 Victoria, 51, and David, 50 \u2014 via his Instagram Stories.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family [with] performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships. \u2026 Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they\u2019ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade,\u201d he wrote, noting that he does not want to reconcile.<\/p>\n

Victoria and her husband, David Beckham, have raised their four children \u2014 Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper \u2014 in the public eye. davidbeckham\/Instagram<\/p>\n

Brooklyn said in an astonishing public statement earlier this month that he does not want to \u201creconcile\u201d with his family. Instagram\/@victoriabeckham<\/p>\n

Brooklyn, 26, claimed his parents have also tried to ruin his marriage to his wife, Nicola Peltz. and accused his mom of dancing \u201cinappropriately\u201d with him at their 2022 wedding.<\/p>\n

While Victoria and David have yet to respond, their other children have showed they\u2019re as close as ever..<\/p>\n

Their son Cruz, 20, was spotted on a double date with brother Romeo<\/a>, 23, in Paris on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Romeo and Cruz were with their respective girlfriends, Jackie Apostel<\/a> and Kim Turnball<\/a>, while in the City of Light during Paris Fashion Week.<\/p>\n

Victoria and David\u2019s youngest child, daughter Harper, 14, also showed support for Romeo over the weekend<\/a> when she praised his runway walk at the Willy Chavarria show at Paris Fashion Week.<\/p>\n
