Tom Aspinall<\/a> has some pointers for Michael Chandler<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Chandler, a three-time Bellator champion and one-time UFC lightweight title challenger, is currently in a career-worst slump with just one win in his past six outings. Most recently, he lost to Paddy Pimblett<\/a> at UFC 314<\/a> in April, succumbing to strikes in the third round.<\/p>\n

Aspinall recently posted a workout video on his YouTube<\/a> channel featuring Pimblett, and he had his own theory as to why Chandler is struggling.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s bad fight IQ. … It\u2019s weird because he\u2019s obviously a really fit guy, but if you do a sprint for five minutes, no one\u2019s going to be fit, are they?\u201d Aspinall said. \u201cHe just goes out there, he throws from here, swinging, everything he does is picking up full blast.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s mad for someone who has that many fights, I\u2019m just surprised.\u201d<\/p>\n

In seven UFC appearances, Chandler has picked up five post-fight bonuses (including three Fight of the Night awards) despite his poor record. His all-out style has endeared him to fans and earned him several high-profile matchups, but Aspinall thinks he could be more efficient especially when it comes to cutting down on showy slams and wild haymakers.<\/p>\n

Aspinall recalled seeing Chandler\u2019s loss to Charles Oliveira<\/a> at UFC 309<\/a> and it was then that he knew Pimblett could beat him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was watching him thinking, \u2018There\u2019s no way Paddy loses to this guy,\u2019\u201d Aspinall said. \u201cI know a lot of people were saying online, \u2018He\u2019s a tough fight for Paddy.\u2019 I thought, \u2018Easy fight for Paddy.\u2019 And it was pretty easy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aspinall\u2019s critical comments caught the attention of Chandler, who replied on Threads<\/a>, taking a shot at Aspinall being unable to secure a highly anticipated Jon Jones<\/a> fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cDidn\u2019t that big goober say this, like, three years ago?\u201d Chandler wrote. \u201cAnd then he waited as long for Jon as I did for Conor [McGregor] after he criticized me waiting for Conor? Cool.\u201d<\/p>\n
