Netflix has released first-look images from the set of \u201cThe Fifth Wheel,\u201d the forthcoming Eva Longoria-directed, female-driven comedy starring Kim Kardashian and Nikki Glaser.<\/p>\n
Written by Paula Pell and Janine Brito, the film is set to follow a group of high school best friends as they \u201cattempt to reconnect during a weekend haunt to Vegas,\u201d per the official logline. But when a \u201chot outsider\u201d (the titular fifth wheel, played by Kardashian, of course) crashes their weekend, \u201cthey\u2019re forced to face their messy lives, bad decisions and unraveling friendships.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Fifth Wheel\u201d is Longoria\u2019s second time directing a feature film, and her first for Netflix. The \u201cDesperate Housewives\u201d star previously directed the Hulu and Disney+ distributed \u201cFlamin\u2019 Hot\u201d back in 2023, chronicling the creation of Flamin\u2019 Hot Cheetos. In addition to Kardashian and Glaser, Fortune Feimster, Brenda Song, Jack Whitehall, Casey Wilson and Scott MacArthur round out the cast.<\/p>\n
The comedy is Kardashian\u2019s latest foray into acting; the reality star previously led as Allura Grant in Hulu\u2019s legal drama\u00a0 \u201cAll\u2019s Fair\u201d and as prominent publicist Siobhan Corbyn alongside Emma Roberts in Season 12 of \u201cAmerican Horror Story.\u201d Back in June 2025, Variety<\/a> reported that the multi-hyphenate would also be stepping into the villain role in a \u201cBratz\u201d movie from Amazon MGM. \u201cThe Fifth Wheel\u201d marks Kardashian\u2019s first leading film role and first collaboration with Netflix.<\/p>\n The comedy joins Netflix\u2019s recent slate of Los Angeles productions, including the Ben Affleck-directed \u201cAnimals,\u201d\u00a0 Lee Sung Jin\u2019s \u201cBeef\u201d Season 2,\u00a0 Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan\u2019s \u201cMonster\u201d Season 4, Mindy Kaling\u2019s \u201cRunning Point\u201d Season 2, \u201cStar Search\u201d and \u201cNobody Wants This\u201d Season 2.<\/p>\n The film is produced by \u00a0Pell, Kardashian, Jessica Elbaum, Will Ferrell and Alex Brown for Gloria Sanchez, and Cris Abrego and Longoria\u2019s Hyphenate Media Group.
