\n\tEXCLUSIVE: Ren\u00e9e Elise Goldsberry (Hamilton, Girls5Eva) has joined the cast of the new CBS<\/a> legal drama Cupertino<\/a>, from Robert and Michelle King. <\/p>\n

\n\tCupertino\u00a0is a David vs. Goliath legal drama set in the heart of Silicon Valley that follows Michael (Mike Colter), a lawyer who is being cheated out of his stock options by his former employer, a tech start-up. Refusing to back down, he joins forces with another recently fired attorney to represent those taken advantage of by the tech elite and help them fight back in a high-stakes battle against the Goliaths controlling Silicon Valley.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a series regular role, Goldsberry will play Renee, a brilliant opposing attorney who has a professional and romantic history with Michael.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe project reunites Goldsberry with Robert and Michelle King, the creators of the hit CBS series The Good Wife, where she played Geneva Pine. She also appeared in their series Evil, working alongside Colter, who led the supernatural drama.<\/p>\n

\n\tCupertino was picked up to series to air during the 2026-2027 season, Deadline confirmed back in October<\/a>. Also previously announced was the casting of Ella Stiller <\/a>in the role of\u00a0Christy, a young assistant at the new start-up law firm in Cupertino that\u2019s at the heart of the story.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs previously noted, Colter has worked with the Kings on The Good Wife, as Lemond Bishop, and Evil, as David Acosta. Currently on CBS, the Kings are the creators and executive producers of Elsbeth, a spinoff of their hit The Good Wife\/The Good Fight franchise.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe husband-and-wife duo will write and\u00a0serve\u00a0as executive producers\u00a0on Cupertino under their banner King Size Productions, with Robert King set to direct the premiere\u00a0episode. Liz Glotzer also serves as executive producer.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tGoldsberry is a Tony and Grammy winner\u00a0and an Emmy-nominated\u00a0actress and singer. Her first Primetime Emmy nomination was for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her role as Angelica Schuyler in Disney\u2019s Hamilton (2021), and she received two Daytime Emmy noms for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her work on One Life to Live (2006, 2007), in the role of Evangeline Williamson.<\/p>\n

\n\tHer TV credits include Netflix\u2019s Girls5Eva, Disney+\u2019s She-Hulk, Fox\u2019s Ally McBeal, and Netflix\u2019s Altered Carbon. Goldsberry is also the subject of the 2025 documentary\u00a0Satisfied, which examines her Hamilton journey alongside the emotional terrain of family-building and new motherhood.<\/p>\n

\n\tHer Broadway credits include musicals\u00a0Hamilton, Rent, The Color Purple\u00a0and\u00a0The Lion King. She recently released her debut album\u00a0Who I Really Am, featuring original new music.
