\n\t\u201cThe Gilded Age<\/a>\u201d has been renewed for Season 4 at HBO<\/a>, Variety has learned. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe renewal news comes as the period drama has aired six of the eight episodes in its third season. The Season 3 finale is scheduled to air Aug. 10. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe couldn\u2019t be prouder of the undeniable viewership heights \u2018The Gilded Age\u2019 as achieved this season,\u201d said Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO Programming and head of HBO Drama Series and Films. \u201cTransporting us to 1880s New York City, Julian Fellowes and the enormously talented cast and crew have created a \u2018cant-miss it\u2019 entertainment experience from week to week, and we\u2019re delighted to continue exploring these characters\u2019 grand ambitions for what we promise will be a thrilling fourth season.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPer HBO, premiere-night viewing for third season has grown for five consecutive weeks. The series is up 20% percent in viewership compared to last season, and has hit series highs for two consecutive weeks<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThanks to Julian and the phenomenally talented cast and crew, each season of \u2018The Gilded Age\u2019 delivers stories rich in drama and history, stellar performances and stunning production value,\u201d said Erin Underhill, president of series co-producer Universal Television. \u201cEvery moment spent in this world and with these characters only deepens our love for the show, and we\u2019re so happy that our partners at HBO and audiences around the world are clamoring for more.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJulian Fellowes created the series and serves as executive produer. Gareth Neame also executive produces along with David Crockett and Bob Greenblatt. Michael Engler is a director and executive producer on the series, as is Salli Richardson-Whitfield. Sonja Warfield is a writer and executive producer, with Erica Armstrong Dunbar co-executive producing.
