{"id":433067,"date":"2026-01-27T16:36:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-27T16:36:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/433067\/"},"modified":"2026-01-27T16:36:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-27T16:36:08","slug":"central-alabama-hospital-completes-14-million-er-expansion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/433067\/","title":{"rendered":"Central Alabama hospital completes $14 million ER expansion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"5FNL6U7VGNHYFGDXC7VGTXDWHI\">Central Alabama\u2019s largest healthcare facility has completed a $14 million expansion of its emergency department. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"5U23HKSH2RAKVIXTU2SEZIUKZQ\">Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery has added 11,205 square feet to its ER, increasing its treatment capacity from 53 to 83 rooms, with the potential to accommodate up to 98 treatment areas. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"AMSGEW2F5NESFLMDUIJBISBLW4\">The hospital is the only Level II trauma center in the region. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"7BBSWOFA75ATFGVK6H4KD3HRYQ\">The expansion was prompted by a growth in demand, according to the hospital. In 2024, the hospital ER treated nearly 57,000 patients from its 17-county service area. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"47VXVAXDCRAIPNHWCVDZ5GVP7E\">\u201cWe sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding throughout this construction project as we worked to enhance our ability to serve the community,\u201d the hospital said in a statement. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"UYHMRLITFJHWRHGNJA4SGJQKBQ\">Patients and visitors arriving at the Emergency Department by private vehicle should enter from the service road located in front of the hospital and follow the signage. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"Q4NHY2KIHBDQZB2OVVDNQITYE4\">Ambulance entrances have not changed as a result of the expansion. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Central Alabama\u2019s largest healthcare facility has completed a $14 million expansion of its emergency department.
