The renewal comes a day before season three of the comedy is set to premiere. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSeason three will pick up after events of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-features\/shrinking-season-2-finale-jason-segel-interview-1236090617\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">second season finale<\/a>, where Jimmy (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/jason-segel\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jason-segel_1\" data-tag=\"jason-segel\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jason Segel<\/a>) saved the life of Louis (Brett Goldstein), the man who killed Jimmy\u2019s wife in a drunk driving accident. The new season will also follow Paul (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/harrison-ford\/\" id=\"auto-tag_harrison-ford_1\" data-tag=\"harrison-ford\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Harrison Ford<\/a>) as he seeks treatment for his Parkinson\u2019s disease, where (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/shrinking-season-3-trailer-michael-j-fox-1236460829\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">as seen in the trailer<\/a>) he meets a character played by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/michael-j-fox-shrinking-season-3-1236218416\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Michael J. Fox<\/a>, who has Parkinson\u2019s and through his foundation has raised millions of dollars to research the condition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tShrinking also stars Christa Miller, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/jessica-williams\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jessica-williams_1\" data-tag=\"jessica-williams\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jessica Williams<\/a>, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell and Ted McGinley. Guest stars in season three include Goldstein, Fox, Damon Wayans Jr., Wendie Malick, Cobie Smulders, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/tv\/tv-news\/jeff-daniels-shrinking-season-3-apple-tv-1236162361\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jeff Daniels<\/a>, Candice Bergen, Sherry Cola and Isabella Gomez.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe show\u2019s first two seasons earned a total of nine Emmy nominations, including a best comedy series nod last year. Segel and Williams have each been nominated for their acting work twice, and Ford and Urie landed 2025 nominations as well. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSegel, Goldstein and Bill Lawrence co-created the series, which comes from Warner Bros. TV, where Lawrence and his Doozer Productions and Goldstein have overall deals.
